Q: How does Grid Live Monitor work?

A: Your detector shares the readings with an MSA gateway that transfers the data to the cloud. From there, the information is made available on your Grid account.

Q: How does Grid Fleet Manager work?

A: Once the detector is placed in the automated test stand, the test results and detector logs are transferred to our cloud, where the data is processed and then made available in the Grid account.

Q: What happens if I temporarily lose connection to the Grid service(s)?

A: The information will be buffered until the connection is reestablished, at which time the buffered information will be sent to your Grid account.

Q: What languages are currently supported?

A: The Grid services are current available in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.

Q: If I want to cancel my subscription, how do I get my data?

A: We can provide it to you in JSON files.

Q: Who owns my data?

Q: Where is my data stored?

A: It is stored in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) datacenter in the United States.

Q: How do I know my information is safe?

A: Safety io has a data privacy policy and protection systems in place to ensure your confidential safety information is protected. Here is how we do it:

A) Access: Every customer has an exclusive separate database location with restricted access. As a customer, you maintain full control of your content. We provide an advanced set of access, encryption, and logging features to help you do this effectively. User authentication is verified for data upload and access. We do not access or use your content for any purpose without your consent.

B) Data protection: All the data in transit are encrypted. While stored in the datacenter, the information is secured by the virtual private cloud. Central monitoring with AI-based anomaly detection provides further data protection.

C) Disclosure of customer content: We do not disclose customer information unless we’re required to do so to comply with a legally valid and binding order.

D) Safety io’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) is certified by an accredited third-party vendor to be compliant with the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard.

Q: Who is responsible for security?

A: Safety io has obligations regarding securing your data within our private cloud. You have obligations to protect your login credentials from being compromised or shared with others.

Q: Why will you anonymize or aggregate my data and use it?

A: Like many software as a service providers, Safety io retains the rights to what's referred to as aggregate and anonymized data. This type of data will never be able to be used to identify a customer or its workers. Safety io will use this data to improve our services and provide insights to you. We will also use this data to improve future versions of MSA safety equipment.

Q: Is Safety io GDPR Compliant?

A: Yes, we are.
